I am a professional, freelance writer. I have regular clients, many of whom are very high profile. I generally enjoy and am proud of the work that I do. However, I do receive inquiries from businesses, some you have never heard of and some that you likely patronize on at least a weekly basis, that ask me to create pieces that are, for lack of better phrasing, made up. Following are three recent, though by no means rare, requests I have received:
"Please write 10 separate, positive reviews of (product). Please include no less than one but no more than two negative aspects of (product), with no less than seven positive aspects. The negatives should be very minor in comparison to the positives. Give each review a different voice. Some should be written in third person, some in first. You may write one review as though English is not your given language."
"Write a travel guide as though you are Australian travelling abroad. Your perspective should be one from the outside looking in."
"Please write restaurant reviews of the following places. Talk about their excellent service and ambiance. Study their menus and choose a dish from each section to highlight. All reviews must be positive."
My own moral code does not allow me to write pieces that I find to be unethical. All of my work is based off of thorough research from primary, reliable sources. I believe this is why I have clients who return to me week after week, year after year. Still, there are many writers out there trying to make names for themselves. These fake reviews can pay very well for a small amount of work, which make them attractive choices for those who simply need the money. Every time I receive a request, I politely refuse, but I also know that there are at least a dozen other writers who will gladly take my place. This is why I tell everyone I know:
Don't believe anything you read on the internet.
And yet, here I am, telling you to believe me. My general hope is that my story above illustrates the fact that I am an honest person. That is why I feel qualified to tout the wonders of Shakeology.
Yes, I am an Independent Team Beachbody Coach. That means that I make money off of Shakeology sales. That means that I am trying to sell you something right now. That means that you probably shouldn't believe me. However, maybe you should believe this:

We have all seen these types of amazing transformation stories, and because they are on the internet, they must be true, right? Because there is no such thing as Photoshop, varied lighting, or even sucking in.
Personal Trainer Fakes Before and After Pics
Everyone knows that a one week transformation simply isn't going to happen, at least not in a truly visible way. I have been drinking Shakeology for almost a week now. I have lost a little bit of weight. I feel lighter and more energized. My food cravings have lessened and my meal portions throughout the rest of the day are smaller. But my after picture still looks pretty much like my before picture. That is because it has been a week. Right now all of the changes are on the inside. Nobody wants to see that.

My suggestion to you is, the next time you see an amazing weight loss story that is said to happen in a matter of days, not weeks, just don't look at that thing. It is only going to discourage and frustrate you. Instead, look for healthy living alternatives and sustainable weight loss if that is your goal. The Beachbody Ultimate Reset can help you feel your healthiest and lose weight quickly, but even that takes three weeks to completely see the benefits. An overnight change is not going to happen regardless of what you might see on the internet.
Except this. You can always believe this.
